HSGL’s Crown Court Judges and Youth Awards
On 17th February I held the above at the Supreme Court. The first part of the ceremony was me giving my Judges awards to victims of, and witnesses to, recent crimes in the capital. Awardees’ names are put forward, by the Judges in particular cases at their discretion, to people who had exhibited bravery far beyond the norm. The second part focused on youths under 18 who had shown exemplary citizenship. Both elements were presided over by the President of the Supreme Court, Lord Reid, who was accompanied by some of his most senior Court colleagues. An afternoon tea was then held for all concerned, including family members and recommending Judges.
