Court and prison visits

At the time of writing I have visited four prisons (Pentonville, Feltham, Wandsworth and Wormwood Scrubs), six Crown Courts (Kingston, Southwark, Woolwich, Croydon, Isleworth and Snaresbrook) with potentially Harrow and Wood Green to come, one First Tier Tribunal Court (Property) and one Coroners’ Court (West London). These visits have broadly followed a similar agenda: a private meeting with the Governor or Resident Judge; a tour of the facility and introduction to the other senior members of staff; time sitting in a Court case with one of the Judges where applicable and then lunch. After which I normally issue Special Recognition certificates to staff, including sometimes whole departments. They always have the effect of boosting morale, not just for the recipients, but for the other staff members too (especially when I said thank you on behalf of the King!)

Included in the above was a very special visit to the Royal Courts of Justice where I visited the Lady Chief Justice and presented awards.
